I love doing wedding hair - but I ABSOLUTELY love doing a friends hair for their special day. I've known this bride, and a couple of her bridesmaids since a young age - they are great friends of mine and my sisters. I was so pleased to have been able to be there to help everyone get ready for the big day.
The girls wanted to get ready at the hotel they were staying in down on the Mukilteo waterfront. The wedding was held at the beautiful Rose Hill Center on a sunny June afternoon.
For the brides hair, I added in a few rows of extensions to give her a little more fullness in the updo. Adding more hair also helps with holding the style better. She had this amazing vintage broach/clip that we set off to one side of her soft, curly and romantic updo. Inspiration came from this Lauren Conrad Picture:
I opted to keep the pieces pinned back on the sides. With a bride, and all the movement and hugging she will be doing throughout the evening, it's best to be aware of hair around the face that might get messed up and, in this brides case, blow in the wind and look funny in pictures, because her wedding was outside - i kept the softness but not as many curls hanging around the face.
I was also able to go 4 of the 6 bridesmaids. Below are the bride's nieces - they both had a ton of beautiful hair!
This has to be one of the prettiest bridal parties I've ever worked with - look at that group of girls!!
And one of the prettiest brides, ever!!!
