Special Occasion Hair

These pictures are from 2 different Weddings but I still wanted to post them because they are such different styles and turned out so pretty!

Makeovers

Some call it a makeover, some call it a style change - go with whatever fits you best, but these two looks are definitely both of those.

This first guest came in with the intention of wanting to cut her bob-styled hair into a shorter pixie look. As you can see from the looks of her before picture on the right side, she had a bit of grow out and I was worried that the haircut wouldn't look as good unless we touched up those dark roots so we also decided to do a partial foil to brighten her up. We both were so happy with the end results!

This next guest had a ton of gorgeous hair but was over having it the same long style she always had. We did a partial Balayage for her color to add some warmer, very subtle high lights to give the haircut some dimension because her hair was a solid dark brown color naturally. Again, so happy with the outcome!

Yay for short hair!

Robles Wedding, Queen Anne WA

A great group of gals this Wedding was. Traveled from all over the U.S. they had rented a beautiful home on the top of Queen Anne to get ready at. The Bride was calm, cool and collected which makes my job very easy. I appreciate that ;)

Kolsky Wedding, Woodinville WA

What can I say, this Wedding is my absolute favorite - of course, because it was my sister's! This event took place at the beautiful Hollywood School House in Woodinville in early June 2013. This is one of the prettiest grounds for a Wedding in my opinion. (see link above for pictures)
Since I was the Maid of honor my duties were to do the Bride's hair only - my friend Charlie came in to help and did the other Bridesmaids hair which turned out beautiful, down with volume and curls.
The style of this Wedding was called "Vintage Chic" which I absolutely love. Gorgeous flowers, sparkly bling touches throughout the decor and a romantic backdrop at the alter with white chiffon drapery, a crystal chandelier and bunches of pretty flowers.

For the Brides look we wanted to stay with the Vintage Chic theme and swept everything back in curls with a soft, romantic flowy style from the front. Not a lot of people can pull off the look without a part, this is one of my favorite Wedding styles and Leesa looked beautiful in it!

Me in action - getting the Bride's hair started.

LOVE the hair broach (hopefully my something borrowed someday;)

It was an honor to be a part of this amazing, romantic, fun and memorable day! Thank you Leesa & Ty for having me be a part of your special day. Love you guys!

Blondies!!!

It's been a while since I posted something - Wedding season is right around the corner, so hopefully the blog will have more action soon, but I wanted to share with you all the bombshell blondes I've had the privilege of doing these days. I've enjoyed being able to do color again, and excited that my friends and clients are trusting enough to put their hair in my hands and do whatever it is I want.

 Full Balayage Ombre' look.
Before on left - After on the right.
Loved this final look!!

Angela : Partial Balayage * Before Left - After Right*

One of my favorite Ombre' Balayage - before and after left to right.

Brewe Wedding - Whidbey, WA

This was my first destination wedding (that I wasn't in) as far as just doing the hair and it was such a great day, I could feel love in the air! The Wedding took place at Fireseed Catering
on Whidbey Island. It was a crispy cold clear fall day, the sun was shining and it was the first frost we had for the season. I was truly impressed from the second I drove onto the grounds of this location.
You feel as if you're out in the middle of no where, in the middle of the woods. This was the most thought out wedding venue I have ever been too. Even driving through the entrance to the parking lot there are details you may or may not notice, but I have a knack for those type of things - so I did. They have a beautiful old barn-style venue with a rustic chic feel to it. Woodsy and elegant at the same time. (check out their website, above - for more pictures of the grounds)
I was mostly impressed with how well the Bridal Suite was thought out. Decorated in shades of pink and romantic touches they had a large closet to hang dresses that also had a mini fridge in it. A dressing room IN the suite with a curtain door that was big enough to fit the bride, her dress and at least 2-3 others to help with getting on the Bride's gown. There were 6 high stools under the long table lined with mirrors for everyone to get ready at. This made my job a lot easier.

 Now onto the hair :

This bride was so easy going and low maintenance - she has long beautiful hair to begin with so we went with a traditional and elegant style, pinning half of it up with tons of curls. I also did the bridesmaids hair - two of her sisters. One of the girls had the most hair I've probably ever dealt with so we decided it would be best to have it up and out of her way in a curly off center updo. It turned out beautiful! The other sister wanted to do a little something similar to the bride with a half up curly style. I loved the halo of flowers that she got to wear - it added such a sweet touch. I also did the MOB, MOG and another bridesmaid (not pictured) - this was such a great group of ladies, I had so much fun being a part of Sarah's special day!!

I LOVED her flowers!!

Congrats and thank you for letting me be a part of your day! <3

Curly hair blow out

Judy has a thick head of fine natural curly hair. Because she has so much of it, every Thursday she comes in for a weekly blowout. I use Prive Weightless Amplifier
which gives her a soft to the touch volume while adding light shine and conditioning from her roots to ends. I use a large round brush to blow her hair out to give her big bouncy curls. Along with setting the top part of her hair in big rollers to add even more volume to last through the week.
