Blondies!!!

It's been a while since I posted something - Wedding season is right around the corner, so hopefully the blog will have more action soon, but I wanted to share with you all the bombshell blondes I've had the privilege of doing these days. I've enjoyed being able to do color again, and excited that my friends and clients are trusting enough to put their hair in my hands and do whatever it is I want.

 Full Balayage Ombre' look.
Before on left - After on the right.
Loved this final look!!

Brewe Wedding - Whidbey, WA

This was my first destination wedding (that I wasn't in) as far as just doing the hair and it was such a great day, I could feel love in the air! The Wedding took place at Fireseed Catering
on Whidbey Island. It was a crispy cold clear fall day, the sun was shining and it was the first frost we had for the season. I was truly impressed from the second I drove onto the grounds of this location.
You feel as if you're out in the middle of no where, in the middle of the woods. This was the most thought out wedding venue I have ever been too. Even driving through the entrance to the parking lot there are details you may or may not notice, but I have a knack for those type of things - so I did. They have a beautiful old barn-style venue with a rustic chic feel to it. Woodsy and elegant at the same time. (check out their website, above - for more pictures of the grounds)
I was mostly impressed with how well the Bridal Suite was thought out. Decorated in shades of pink and romantic touches they had a large closet to hang dresses that also had a mini fridge in it. A dressing room IN the suite with a curtain door that was big enough to fit the bride, her dress and at least 2-3 others to help with getting on the Bride's gown. There were 6 high stools under the long table lined with mirrors for everyone to get ready at. This made my job a lot easier.

 Now onto the hair :

This bride was so easy going and low maintenance - she has long beautiful hair to begin with so we went with a traditional and elegant style, pinning half of it up with tons of curls. I also did the bridesmaids hair - two of her sisters. One of the girls had the most hair I've probably ever dealt with so we decided it would be best to have it up and out of her way in a curly off center updo. It turned out beautiful! The other sister wanted to do a little something similar to the bride with a half up curly style. I loved the halo of flowers that she got to wear - it added such a sweet touch. I also did the MOB, MOG and another bridesmaid (not pictured) - this was such a great group of ladies, I had so much fun being a part of Sarah's special day!!

I LOVED her flowers!!

Congrats and thank you for letting me be a part of your day! <3

Curly hair blow out

Judy has a thick head of fine natural curly hair. Because she has so much of it, every Thursday she comes in for a weekly blowout. I use Prive Weightless Amplifier
which gives her a soft to the touch volume while adding light shine and conditioning from her roots to ends. I use a large round brush to blow her hair out to give her big bouncy curls. Along with setting the top part of her hair in big rollers to add even more volume to last through the week.

12-12-12 Wedding - West Seattle, WA

12-12-12 the date everyone was excited about! I had the honor in doing a Brides hair for her special day on this date. I had only met this Bride once before, at her trial run we did together months previous. I posted an ad on Craigslist to anyone who was in need of an onsite stylist for their special day and she contacted me within the first 24 hours. The trial run went great, but on the day of she decided to add more curls and softness to the updo - I'll put both so you can see the difference. The day of hair was beautiful! I'd have to say, one of my favorites!
The wedding was taken place at the Sanctuary At Admiral . It was AMAZING! I've seen my fair share of wedding locations and this one was truly amazing. I think I may be partial because I love Christmas so much,  they had the place decked in garlands, lights and holiday cheer.

The gorgeous bridal suite was huge - I could only get a picture of the bathroom, but how pretty is that?!

She had such a a great head of hair. Thank you Nancy for giving me the opportunity to do the hair on your special day.

Blonde to Brunette

There is nothing I love more than when somebody comes in wanting a complete style change, or what most people call a "make over". This could entail anything on any level of being drastic or not. Change is drastic for most people, and I personally think it's a great thing. Especially when it comes to your hairstyle. Color, the length of your hair cut, bangs, even switching your part can make a huge difference when it comes to your appearance.

This leads me to my next creation. This guest is one of my favorites! I've been cutting her hair for years. We've switched back and forth on lengths of her bob a few times and she's been a Blonde since the first time we've met. On her last visit she mentioned she wanted to be noticed as a Brunette, rather than a Blonde like her friends tell her she is.
I had just started doing color again and this made me so excited to give her a big change. She put all control into my hands and trusted me to come up with something that would compliment her.
I still wanted to keep that pretty gold tone to her hair and have some of those high lights peek through as the color faded - so  I decided on a warm dark honey brown. I was so pleased with the outcome. Her blue eyes popped and it gave her a fresh new look.
See for yourselves below :)

Thank you Kay for exciting my day!

Do you have a color you'd love to see yourself in? What better time then during the new year to do that!? Give yourself a fresh new look with the fresh new year!

First before & after haircut

Hooray for a busy day in the salon today! Nothing feels better than getting my hands back into work and doing some beautiful hair. I'm going to start documenting my haircuts because I am not only passionate about Wedding hair, but I love to cut and style hair as well. There is no better feeling than seeing a before and after picture of your work and seeing how different you can change someone's look with just an inch or so. Length, layering, shape, products, styling - each and everyone of those things makes such a big difference when it comes to your appearance, and I love being the one to help you achieve that look you want - and to be able to recreate it at home.

Here is a friend of mine (thanks Corah for being my first model;) she has a ton of beautiful hair. She likes to keep it long so we dusted her ends and gave her some shorter layering around her face and a lot more layers throughout the back.

Hansen Wedding - Temecula, CA

I'm so excited to share this wedding with everyone. The bride is one of my very best friends and the groom is an amazing guy, both great friends! The moment they got engaged I counted down to their wedding because I knew they would put on an amazing party. Boy, was I right!!

The Wedding was held at a beautiful winery in Temecula California,  at Keyways Winery. Luckily the bride and groom lived close enough to the venue that we were able to use their house as the girls place to get ready at. I forgot to mention that I was also a Bridesmaid in this wedding. The bride knew of past experiences I had before, as a stylist AND being in the wedding, so she respected my wishes as just to do her hair - and had two other friends who are hair dressers come in and help with the other bridesmaids hair. I really appreciated this. I felt as if I was a part of the wedding and not just the helper for the day :)

I put some temporary extensions in the brides hair the morning of the Wedding. We decided on a half up - half down look. Her length was plenty long so we just added them for extra fullness and volume. It turned out perfect!
The length, color, everything looked perfect on her! So romantic with a little sparkle in there as well.

For the reception we knew there was going to be plenty of dancing so after the ceremony we went into the bridal cottage and swpet everything back into a gorgeous updo.

Don't mind the truck in the back ;) but it's so great to have TWO seperate looks for your big day, and not to have to worry about messing with anything once it's up and out of your face.

such a beautiful, fun, romantic, lovely wedding! Congratulations to Jamie and Ken - thank you for letting me stand up with you on your special day, I was so thankful and grateful for the whole weekend, you guys are the best!! <3
